On June 14th, the New Jersey Council of Children’s Hospitals (CCH) held the first “Council of Children’s Hospital’s Trenton Day” to create awareness, recognition, and visibility for the CCH’s membership. The entire membership, including our 9 designated children’s hospitals, affiliate members, and supporting organizations (AAP-NJ & PCORE) participated inside the State House with colorful informational table-top exhibit displays. Additionally, a number of pediatric mobile healthcare units were parked curbside and created a presence outside the State House on West State Street as well. Executives and physicians from many of the institutions were interviewed by Channel 25 News.
A Proclamation issued by Governor Christie was presented by his staff and Senate and Assembly Resolutions were presented to the CCH by Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle and Assemblyman Herb Conaway, Jr. Many other legislators, including Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini, took the opportunity to stop by the exhibits and speak to hospital representatives on matters of importance and to see first hand the incredible level of quality care that is provided by these institutions to the children of New Jersey. Bravo to all members for creating a unified presence in Trenton!
