Senator Robert Gordon represents the 38th District containing portions of Bergen County. He graduated from Williams College in Williamstown, Mass., where he majored in political economy and environmental studies. He went on to attain a master's degree from the Graduate School of Public Policy at the University of California at Berkeley, and an M.B.A. degree in finance from the Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania. He served in the State Assembly from 2003-2007 before he was elected to the Senate. Gordon served ten years as a councilman in the Borough of Fair Lawn, and was mayor from 1988 to 1991. He served as chairman on the Fair Lawn Board of Ethics from 1999 to 2003. Gordon is a founding partner of Emergency Management Advisors, L.L.C., a consulting firm in the field of emergency preparedness and disaster recovery. In the Senate, Gordon currently serves as Vice Chair of the Wagering, Tourism & Historic Preservation Committee, and as a member of the Health, Human Services & Senior Citizens and Environment committees.
