Senator Andrew R. Ciesla has represented the 10th Legislative District in the New Jersey Senate since 1991. He is a member and former Chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee, and also serves on the Senate Environment Committee.
 
Senator Ciesla graduated from Point Pleasant Borough High School in 1971, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Syracuse University in 1975. He went on to receive an M.B.A in 1976.
After starting off as the executive director and operations manager for the Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority, Senator Ciesla later assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer of the water and sewer utility from 1977 to 1987. He later moved on to serve as the Chief Financial Officer of a major wholesale and retail supply company, from 1987 to 1998. He then served as President of the New Jersey Region for Ferguson Enterprises from 1998 to 2005, and currently serves as Area Manager for the Atlantic Region for Ferguson.
 
Senator Ciesla previously served as a Councilman in his hometown of Brick Township from 1987 to 1991, and served as Council President from 1989 to 1990.
Since being elected to the Legislature, Senator Ciesla has sponsored numerous pieces of legislation that have been signed into law.
 
He has been a member of various committees that focus on issues relevant to the Jersey Shore, including the State Beach Erosion Commission and the Clean Action and Shore Trust Commission.
Senator Ciesla lives in Brick, New Jersey with his wife Debra and their three sons, Alex, Andrew and Adam.
