Assemblyman Louis Greenwald

Assembly Budget Committee

Greenwald has served in the New Jersey General Assembly since 1996, where he represents the 6th legislative district. He has been the Assembly's Budget Committee Chair since 2002 and was the Assistant Minority Leader from 1998-1999. As well as serving on the Assembly Budget Committee, he also services on the Joint Budget Oversight Committee (as Vice Chair) and on the Appropriations Committee. Assemblyman Greenwald is a member of the Camden County Bar Association, the Camden County Democratic Committee and the Camden County Traffic Safety Task Force Committees. He is a member of the CEO/Executive Advisory Board for the Southern New Jersey Council Boy Scouts of America. Greenwald graduated with a B.A. in 1989 from Moravian College in Political Science and was awarded a J.D. in 1992 from the Seton Hall University School of Law. He resides in Voorhees Township.

A359: Requires school board member and local elective office candidates to file financial disclosure statements; requires criminal background disclosure for school officials and school board member candidates.

A627: Prohibits supplemental compensation for unused sick leave for public school and municipal employees with annual compensation of $100,000 or more.

A646: Authorizes municipalities to regulate and impose fees on sexually oriented businesses and requires
municipalities to station security personnel at certain locations in proximity to such businesses when children are present.

A647: Requires sexually oriented businesses to notify property owners within 3,000 feet and obtain variance prior to operation.

A712: Establishes a gross income tax credit for full time enrollment at four year institutions of higher education, county colleges and accredited post-secondary schools in New Jersey.

A713: Increases annual income limitation to receive senior and disabled citizens' property tax deduction to $15,000.

A714: Provides that, when candidacy for party nomination to public office or for political party office is uncontested, no primary election vote upon such nomination or party office shall be held.
