Assemblyman Rob Clifton was officially sworn into his first term in the General Assembly on January 10, 2012 and represents the 12th Legislative District which includes parts of Monmouth, Burlington, Middlesex and Ocean Counties.
Prior to his election to the Assembly, Rob served three terms as a Monmouth County Freeholder, where he last served as the Director of the Board of Chosen Freeholders.
Assemblyman Clifton is employed by Comcast Cable Corporation as the Director of Government and Community Affairs, a position he has held since 2001. Prior to joining Comcast, Rob was Director of Industry Relations for the New Jersey Pavement and Asphalt Association, where he acted as a liaison between the trade association and municipalities throughout the state regarding road improvement issues.
Rob was born and raised in Matawan, where he attended local elementary schools and St. John Vianney High School, in Holmdel.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Rider College (Lawrenceville, N.J.), and a master’s degree in Political Science at the University of Richmond (Va.).
Assemblyman Clifton and his wife, Tracy, reside in Matawan with their two sons, R.J. and Jack.
