Democrat Joseph V. Egan, of New Brunswick, was first elected to the New Jersey General Assembly on November 6, 2001.
Born February 27, 1938, Mr. Egan attended St. Peter's High School and received his Journeymanship in electrical trades from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 456, of which he is a member. Mr. Egan is the local's business manager.
Mr. Egan and his wife, Yolanda, have four children: Patricia, Joseph Jr., Timothy and Kevin; and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Egan represents the 17th Legislative District, which includes the Middlesex County municipalities of Milltown, New Brunswick, North Brunswick and Piscataway; and the Somerset County municipality of Franklin.
