
Jon Bramnick was appointed to the New Jersey General Assembly in 2003 to fill the unexpired term of Thomas Kean, Jr., (who himself left to fill an unexpired New Jersey Senate term). Later that year he was elected to a full two-year term, and has continued to be re-elected since. In 2007, Bramnick was selected as the Republican Whip, while the previous year he was Assistant Minority Whip. Jon Bramnick is a member of the Consumer Affairs Committee, Law and Public Safety Committee, and the Legislative Services Commission. Previously, Bramnick served two terms as a City Councilman in Plainfield, NJ from 1984 to 1991. Bramnick received his B.A. in Political Science from Syracuse University and his J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law. He is an attorney with Bramnick, Rodriquez, Mitterhoff, Grabas & Woodruff, and L.L.C. in Scotch Plains. He is the Republican Municipal Chairman in Westfield, where he resides with his family. A frequent lecturer for the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the American Trial Lawyers Association, he is also a former assistant professor at Rider University and a former adjunct faculty member at Rutgers University. Assemblyman Bramnick is a comedian as well and has been voted the Funniest Lawyer in New Jersey four times.
