
Democrat John F. McKeon is serving his third term in New Jersey's General Assembly. He represents the 27th District, which includes the Essex County communities of Caldwell, Essex Fells, Fairfield, Livingston, Maplewood, North Caldwell, Orange,Roseland, South Orange, West Caldwell, West Orange, and a portion of Newark. Assembly Speaker Joseph J. Roberts, Jr. appointed Assemblyman McKeon to serve as Assembly Speaker Roberts as Assistant Majority Leader for the 2006-2007 legislative session. Assemblyman McKeon is Chairman of the Assembly Environmental and Solid Waste Committee and is a member of the Assembly Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee. A lifelong Essex County resident, Assemblyman McKeon began his work in public service as a Councilman for West Orange, serving from 1992 to 1998. He served as Mayor of West Orange since 1998. Assemblyman McKeon is an accomplished trial lawyer and currently a senior partner at the firm Hardin, Kundla, McKeon, Poletto, and Polifroni in Springfield. He attended West Orange Mountain High School, graduated cum laude from Muhlenberg College, and earned a juris doctorate degree from the Seton Hall University School of Law. Assemblyman McKeon resides in West Orange with his wife Anne Mader McKeon, Esq. and their three daughters: Lacey, Melissa, and Jaclyn.
