John Amodeo began his Assembly term Jan. 8, 2008. During his tenure, he has sponsored bills to boost economic development in Atlantic County, cut pension and health benefits for part-time elected officials, and relieve property taxes.
He previously served two terms on the Linwood City Council. He is a licensed crane operator and a member of Operating Engineers Local 825. Now retired, he had worked on many local construction projects and was the lead engineer on the Ocean City-Longport Bridge replacement project.
Amodeo is a trustee of the Margate Beach Patrol alumni Association and a vice president of St. Augustine Prep Alumni Association.
Born in Camden, Amodeo was raised on Absecon Island, attended Margate schools and is a graduate of St. Augustine Prep. He received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Mount St. Mary’s College, Emmittsburg, Md., in 1972. The following year, he married the former Luann DiGiacinto, and their children John Charles and Amy Dee, were born in 1976 and 1980, respectively.
