Democrat Jerry Green, of Plainfield, was first elected to the New Jersey General Assembly on November 5, 1991. He was first sworn-in as Assembly Speaker Pro Tempore on January 8, 2008.
Born on April 16, 1939, Mr. Green is a business consultant. He also serves on the advisory committee for Valley National Bank in Wayne and on the board of directors of the Business Partnership of Somerset County.
Mr. Green represents the 22nd Legislative District, which includes the Middlesex County municipalities of Dunellen and Middlesex; the Somerset County municipalities of Green Brook and North Plainfield; and the Union County municipalities of Clark, Fanwood, Linden, Plainfield, Rahway, Scotch Plains and Winfield.
