Assemblywoman Dr. Joan M. Voss

Deputy Majority Leader

Democrat Joan M. Voss, Ed.D., of Fort Lee, was first elected to the New Jersey General Assembly on November 4, 2003.

Born August 21, 1940, Dr. Voss received her Bachelor of Arts in history and English and her Master of Arts in education from Montclair State University; and her Doctor of Education in administration, supervision and curriculum development from Fordham University.

Dr. Voss has one son: Theodore Paul.

Dr. Voss represents the 38th Legislative District, which includes the Bergen County municipalities of Cliffside Park, Edgewater, Elmwood Park, Fair Lawn, Fort Lee, Hasbrouck Heights, Little Ferry, Lodi, Paramus, Ridgefield, Saddle Brook, South Hackensack, and Teterboro.
