
Democrat Cleopatra G. Tucker, of Newark, was first elected to the New Jersey General Assembly on November 6, 2007.
Born April 9, 1943, Mrs. Tucker studied sociology at Tennessee State University's Miles College. She is the executive director of The Centre, Inc., a non-profit that organizes activities and programs for Newark's youth.
Mrs. Tucker and her late husband, Donald, have two children.
Mrs. Tucker represents the 28th Legislative District, which includes the Essex County municipalities of Belleville, Bloomfield, Irvington, and a portion of the City of Newark.
