Assemblyman Alex DeCroce

Minority Leader

Assemblyman Alex DeCroce represents the 26th Legislative district which encompasses parts of Morris and Passaic Counties. He has been a member of the New Jersey General Assembly since January 26, 1989 when he was chosen to fill a vacancy. Assemblyman DeCroce has subsequently been re-elected to the office ten times. Mr. DeCroce is president of the Morris Plains real estate firm Gallo & DeCroce, Inc. In 1984, he became a member of the Morris County Board of Freeholders, a position he held until 1989. He served as Freeholder Director in 1986. Assemblyman DeCroce is a former member of the Morris County Board of Elections and Board of Taxation. He also is a former chairman of the Board of Trustees of Morris County College. Assemblyman DeCroce served two years as chairman of the Morris County Republican Committee. During his tenure in the General Assembly, he has served in a variety of leadership positions, including Majority Leader, Deputy Speaker and Conference Leader. He has served as Minority Leader of the Republican Caucus since 2003 and was recently re-elected as their leader for a fourth consecutive term.
