
Democrat Albert Coutinho, of Newark, was first sworn into the New Jersey General Assembly on May 22, 1997, filling the unexpired term of Jackie R. Mattison. Mr. Coutinho was elected to his first full term on November 6, 2007.
Born June 16, 1969, Mr. Coutinho received his Bachelor of Science in economics and finance and his Master of Business Administration in international economics and organizational behavior from New York University. He is a managing partner at Alter International, a business and political consulting company.
Mr. Coutinho represents the 29th Legislative District, which includes Hillside Township in Union County; and a portion of the City of Newark in Essex County.
